Portadown picked themselves up from the hangover of that midweek league defeat against Linfield and regained some lost pride with a well earned draw at Seaview today. The Ports scored first through Kevin Braniff as he picked up a loose ball in the Crusaders box and slammed home from 15 yards. The lead was shortlived however as Crusaders equalised from a long Gareth McKeown throw into the Ports box evaded everyone and Jordan Owens placed his header high and wide of David Miskellys outstretched hands.
After that it became a midfield battle with the Crues just edging it. McCutcheon went off injured in the second half and was replaced by Lecky. The big striker gave the Crusaders back four a headache with his extra aerial power and caused all sorts of mayhem in the Crusaders box, but was unable to capitalise with the winning goal.
The teams will replay on Tuesday evening at Shamrock Park with a 7:45 kick off. Ballymena or Glenavon await the winners in the Semi finals.
