Ports Sign McLellan
Portadown manager Ronnie McFall has added striker Michael McLellan to his growing squad ahead of this years opening league match against Lisburn Distillery on Saturday. Nineteen year old McLellan was released by Preston North End at the beginning of July and had guested with both Ballymena Utd and Portadown in recent weeks. Ronnie McFall moved swiftly to land his man after running his eye over the striker in last Saturday’s friendly match with Newry City.
The Ports boss has been busy in recent weeks with several new faces in the Ports line-up including former whites player Mark Patton who is currently on the road back from injury and will be a useful edition to the squad in the long season ahead. Add to that Darren Murray, Ryan Burns, Chris Casement and Joe McNeill and the Ports have a strong look about them this season. Time will tell if they can mount a serious challenge to Linfield over the season, but the signs are promising, with fans excited at the prospect of the new look team.
